Shishu Shalya Seva (SSS) is a not-for-profit initiative founded under the guidance of Dr. Sanjay Oak to ensure that no child is denied life-saving or corrective pediatric surgery because of financial or geographic barriers. Working across tribal belts, rural regions, and underserved communities, SSS identifies newborns, infants, and children requiring surgical care and brings expert pediatric surgeons to them through organized medical camps. Many of these children suffer from complex conditions such as congenital defects, abdominal anomalies, cleft lip and palate, urogenital disorders, tumors, burns, and life-threatening surgical emergencies.
SSS not only performs surgeries but supports the entire journey of care — including screening, hospitalization, surgical treatment, postoperative care, rehabilitation support, nutrition, and follow-ups. Families are assisted with expenses so that economic hardship never stands between a child and a healthy future. Supported by a dedicated multidisciplinary team, collaboration with charitable hospitals such as Kaushalya Hospital, and committed medical volunteers, SSS has been consistently restoring health, dignity, and hope to children and their families since 2012.
